Dr. Alexandra Thompson / PHD/ CMPC / Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Alex is a licensed psychologist and certified sport psychologist. She graduated from Davidson College in 2010 with a degree in psychology while earning All-Southern Conference honors as a team captain of the Wildcat basketball team in her junior and senior years. She holds a master’s degree in Counseling from UNC-Greensboro (2012), and completed her doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of North Texas (2018). She has experience working with athletes for the last decade and a half, including time spent in the Athletics departments of the University of North Texas, NC State, and Duke University. She is also the sport psychologist for the US Men's and Women's Cross Country Ski Teams as part of the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee. Alex maintains her love for sport by helping athletes strive to be their best self in life and in their performance domain.​
